This contract was for the stabilisation of 3 slopes in the Upper Hunter, both upslope and downslope. Works were completed under single lane closure to minimise disruption to the road users and the local community. Given the beautiful natural environment, detailed measures were implemented to address biodiversity, heritage and environmental requirements.
The scope of works included:
- Development and implementation of WHS, Quality and Environmental Management Plans
- Provision of Traffic Control
- Clearing of select vegetation
- Removal of individual boulders and boulder stacks
- Removal of loose soil, vegetation and rocks
- Supply and install rock bolts, soil nails, tinted shotcrete, galvanised mesh, strip drains and wire drape mesh
- Erosion and sediment controls and creek bed protection
